![]() Abercrombie & Kent, an operator of African safaris since the 1960s, is trying something it has never done; offering co-branded self-drive packages in which clients drive themselves in Land Rovers. The programs give customers an opportunity to do their own driving in a Land Rover in the wilderness, and there are trainers from Land Rover, called Land Rover Experience instructors, to coach them how to drive the all-terrain vehicles. Called Land Rover Adventure Travel by Abercrombie & Kent, the programs are offered through a partnership between Abercrombie & Kent and Jaguar Land Rover North America. They are available in a number of destinations, including Botswana, Great Britain, Morocco, Namibia, Tanzania and Australia. The itineraries are organized by A&K and safari drives are accompanied by wilderness guides as well as Land Rover trainers. Accommodations are luxurious. The Land Rover Adventure Travel by Abercrombie & Kent programs begin at $8,650 per person double occupancy, including meals, accommodations and a range of experiences. Departures start in May.
