I have always felt that being a travel agent is a ‘thankful job’, unlike so many jobs which are considered ‘thankless’.  Over the years, I have met and worked with so many wonderful people.  Clients who never hesitate to show their appreciation for what I have done for them. It is very satisfying to know that I have helped someone accomplish a task they found too difficult or overwhelming to handle.  Whether it’s planning a family reunion cruise for 40 guests or clearing a first-class seat for a business traveller, I feel sincerely appreciated every day.  The business has always been fun with new challenges every day, but it is the loyal clients and friends that I have made that has really kept me in the business for these many years.

It has been very rewarding to be part of the management team that developed The Travel Gallery into the dynamic travel agency and successful company that it is today. We are extremely proud to be here serving our clients for over 25 years. My entire career has been in travel.  

I started with National Airlines after graduating from college. Travel is in my blood. I love to travel and do so at every opportunity. My two favorite places to visit are Italy and Ireland.

It is really a warm and satisfying feeling to go to work and be able to help someone plan a vacation as if it were your own.  There are many variables out there, but as a professional, I can streamline the choices and make it a trip of a lifetime.

I believe travel is the best education which I can share with my husband and three children. There is nothing like it to open your eyes, mind and heart. I feel very fortunate to be able to share my passion for travel with my family, my clients and help create wonderful experiences.

Perhaps the greatest thrill was selling an Around the World Cruise on the QE2. What an exciting adventure. I have always wanted to sell a freighter cruise too, but that hasn’t happened yet. My clients are a joy to work with, no matter where they go or what they do.

I have also had the opportunity to travel around the world, and I have the beautiful memories to share.

I was born in Germany. After my son’s twelfth birthday, we thought the time had come for him to experience some history of his German heritage. After travelling around Germany, we decided to visit the Castle Neuschwanstein. It was a long five hour drive and we had that steep climb ahead to the castle. Finally arriving at the top, we stood there mesmerized at so much beauty. It looked like a fairytale. At that moment, I realized why Disney copied this particular castle for his Magic Kingdom.

We sailed on the Seabourn Sun in 2000. One of our ports of call was Greenland where my husband had been stationed during World War II. He was in the Tenth Mountain Division US Army Ski Troops. We toured this tiny town (where they built a dock just for us - the first cruise ship to sail up the fjord. We had brought an album with Bob’s little black-and-white photos and, low and behold, some of the children in his pictures were standing with us (now 60+ year old men!). It was quite a day and a memory I shall cherish always. That is what travel is all about; treasured memories.

My greatest experience with travel is travelling with my son who is almost grown up now. We started travelling together when he was three weeks old and we haven’t stopped yet. You see things differently when you travel with a child. You see things through their eyes. We went to England and Scotland when he was eight years old and  did a Harry Potter tour, and seeing the castles and cathedrals with his enthusiasm made it worthwhile. Our next trip is to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands. We are looking forward to that this summer. After 31 years in this business, this trip will be a dream fulfilled.

I started in the travel business here in Florida in 1993. Since then, I have moved to three states working at different agencies, and somehow ended up right back where I started my travel career. I enjoy this business because I get to meet people who love to travel like I do. People who love to travel are interesting, active and optimistic about the world. Statistics say that they are happier too! What better work than helping people do something that makes them happy?

 

 

Our story would not be complete if we did not mentin our experienced Home Agents: Georgann Lewis, Bettye Aderholdt, Mary Ellen Aumack, Gretta Hudd and Tracy Mach.
